Computer Class
Some people believe it is not important to expose young students to the computer too early! I disagree with this idea. I teach computers to students Kind.-4th grade. They already know how to log on, shut down properly and many more important concepts they will need to know before becoming efficient typists. I have a program I use entitled "Bernies Typing Travels." This program keeps track of all the data for the individual student as well as offer games to improve accuracy in typing.
My Accelerated Class is exploring all Ancient Civilization this year. So far, we have visited the Ancient Roman Empires, created old-time writing tablets, Roman Tombstones, Roman Roads, Roman Arches, Roman Aqueducts, Ancient Roman and Greek coins, jewelry, shields and Racing Chariots. We have also enjoyed making Greek Water Clocks, Archimedes' Screw, Brooches, Greek Vases, Greek Masks and the Trojan horse. We are looking forward to presenting the plays, "The Story of the Trojan Horse," and "A Child's Day in Caesar's Rome". In January we will begin our unit on China and at the end of the year, Egypt! We are having fun learning all about the Ancient Civilizations!
